All you have to do is sit down, hang on and experience the exhilaration of pure winter fun! The Tubing Company has up to 12 lanes and 2 handle tows.....we'll pull you back up the hill! Minimum age/height requirement is 7 years old and 42" tall. A special Little Tubers area is available, weather permitting, for younger children. The Summit Mountain Shop offers Snowshoe rental and is located at the trailhead. Stop at the snack bar after for hot soups, chili, snacks and drinks. An inexpensive and enjoyable way to spend a day.

The ski rental shop, also known as the warming hut, will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm throughout the winter. Hot food, snacks, beverages, ski rental and seating for visitors available. The gift shop at the Administration Building is also open 10am-4pm weekends. Ski rental is available at the gift shop during the week, 10am - 2pm. No admission fee into the Park this winter! Snowshoeing- Discover the simple pleasures of snowshoeing through the snow covered forest and field. Enjoy the peace and quiet, observe the winter wildlife, take in the fresh air! Snowshoeing is an excellent adventure for newbies and pros alike. Simply strap on the shoes, walk a few steps, and you're easily walking through the snow. Both Lillibridge and Eshelman offer miles of un-groomed trails to explore.
Snowshoe rental is available throughout the winter season. These are general purpose recreation style made with high grade aluminum frames and can be used with sneakers or boots. Reservations are required. Weekend rentals are $20 per pair or $30 for 2 pair. Daily rentals are $8 for adults and $5 for children.
Cross Country Skiing - Both Lillibridge and Eshelman have novice to advanced level challenging hiking trails suitable for cross country skiing. All trails are un-groomed and provide a magnificent adventure, particularly after a fresh snow fall.
Sledding - Lillibridge offers a large field next to the covered pavilion for sledding. With moderate to steep inclines, it offers an exciting run for kids of all ages.
Both properties are open dawn to dusk, year-round, free of charge. Please pack out your trash and practice Leave No Trace.

It may seem early to be thinking about fresh maple syrup, but Moore's is open Sundays ONLY through February for their all you can eat pancake breakfast. Life Under The Ice?

Did you know that deep under the ice and snow, life in the wetland is still rolling along? Insects and fish stay active in the frigid water all winter long. Tucked away in the mud there are a lot more residents patiently awaiting spring. Above the snow, mammals and birds stay active, finding their own ways to deal with winter’s hardships.
Pfeiffer Nature Center is offering a winter wetland ecology walk this Saturday, February 6, from 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM at the Nature Center’s Eshelman Property. Participants will learn about beavers, muskrats, fish, dragonflies, frogs, foxes, and more as they walk the snow and ice covered wetlands along Dodge Creek. The program will be conducted at 1420 Yubadam Rd in Portville. Participants should dress appropriately for the weather and wear waterproof boots. Tri County Drifthoppers Annual Snowmobile Drag Races

Complimentary horse drawn wagon rides will depart from the Depot 1pm - 3pm. Pine Valley students will be demonstrating their art skills with snow sculpturing in the Village Park.

Enchanted Mountains and Chautauqua County on TV

Each week, Tom Seay with Best of America by Horseback, takes viewers to beautiful horseback riding destinations around the country. In September 2009, he visited our area sponsored by the Cattaraugus/Chautauqua Chapter of the New York State Horse Council. While here, his crew filmed some of our outstanding scenery to be aired February 18 and February 25. Join Tom to see some fantastic footage of our area. Introduction to Snowshoeing at Pfeiffer Nature Center

Ready to head out and enjoy the outdoors in winter? If you can walk, you can snowshoe! Snowshoeing is a fantastic way to explore the beauty of the winter landscape. Join Pfeiffer Nature Center and Paths, Peaks and Paddles for this Introduction. You will be properly fitted in a pair of snowshoes followed by practice of the simple techniques to get around. Then it's off to the woods to enjoy a 30 minute winter wonderland walk! The program fee is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The fee includes snowshoes, instruction, walk and cocoa. Trip operates rain or shine unless conditions are unsafe. Participants are urged to approach the property from the Portville side of Lillibridge Road. Registrations will begin in January. The Penguin Paddle is a fundraiser for the Bill Lounsbury Adaptive Program where participants slide down the slope on their belly "penguin style." Also includes a BBQ and raffles.
