Farmers Markets open for the season

The Salamanca Farmers' Market is held in Jefferson Park. The market meets on Tuesdays from May 16 to October 31, 2014. The market opens at 11am and closes at 5pm. They offer vegetables and fruits in season, baked goods, cut flowers, potted plants, bedding plants, hanging baskets, honey, maple syrup and maple products, some handmade crafts ( woodworking), jams and jellies. Pasture raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb is a definite possibility this year.  The market has been in existence for about 20 years. Olean's Farmers Market held Fridays, 2-7pm, has been formed by longtime vendors at other markets. All produce is locally grown by family farms in Western New York, guaranteed. In addition to seasonal vegetables and fruit, there is an extensive baked goods display by an Amish family, also some craft items by the Amish. REAP Olean Farmers Market   The Olean Farmers’ Market begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 17 at the JCC arch parking lot off  N. Union Street (near the Olean mall).  Stop by every Saturday, rain or shine, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 25th.  In addition to offering fresh fruits and vegetables grown only in the WNY region, the market also features locally produced baked goods, maple products, honey, flowers, bedding plants, landscaping plants, wood crafts & ceramics, baby blankets & fashion shawls, meats, cheese, ice cream, wine and more.  REAP – Your Community Farmers’ Market.
